Global Impact Fellowship Singapore Batch 2: what the program covers

Four days and three nights on the NUS campus, built around one thing: turning a young person's idea for social impact into a plan they can carry out.

The Global Impact Fellowship (GIF) is IELSco's international leadership and project incubation program for young people across Southeast Asia. Batch 2 takes place in Singapore from 17 to 20 November 2026, on the campus of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Registration for Batch 2 closed on 21 September 2026.

This article explains what the program covers and who it's for. We'll publish a recap after the program.

What the fellowship is about

GIF is designed for aspiring changemakers who want to build social initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over four days, fellows work on their own project idea with facilitators, receive consultation and feedback, and present a final version at the end. Fellows don't need prior leadership experience, and they don't need a finished idea: preparation before departure helps them sharpen it.

The four days

  1. Day 1: arrival in Singapore, check-in to the NUS dormitory and a tour of the NUS campus.
  2. Day 2: a leadership incubation class, a project incubation class, and a consultation and feedback session.
  3. Day 3: an advanced project incubation class, another consultation and feedback session, and cultural exploration with free time in Chinatown.
  4. Day 4: final project presentations, an awarding ceremony and a farewell session.

The schedule is subject to change. After the program, fellows can get optional support from IELSco to keep implementing their projects.

What's included

  • Accommodation in an NUS dormitory, with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Leadership and project incubation classes, consultation and feedback.
  • An NUS campus tour.
  • Local transportation during program activities.
  • The project presentation and awarding ceremony, an international certificate and official program merchandise.

Who could apply

  • Young people aged 15 to 23.
  • Citizens or residents of Southeast Asian countries.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English. No TOEFL or IELTS score was required.
  • Interested in leadership, social impact and international exposure, with an idea or initiative to develop (or willing to develop one before departure).

Batch 2 was open for self-funded participants, and confirmed delegates had to submit a passport valid for at least six months from the departure date.

Why the English part matters

Everything at GIF happens in English: classes, feedback sessions and the final pitch. If you're preparing for a program like this, practise presenting your idea and answering questions in English out loud; the free weekly IELS Circle sessions are one place to do that with others.
